Preparing For a Trip to Japan
Hello, my name is Dailey Moore and I will soon be leaving Cincinnati, Ohio to go to Japan for the AFS Global Leadership Summer Program. I am very excited I am able to receive this opportunity to go to a foreign country and learn the culture and traditions in Japan.
I always have wanted to travel to Japan ever since I was little. My grandmother had traveled to Japan once on a teacher exchange and would always tell me stories of when she lived there. These stories inspired me to take a trip to Japan.
My hope is that upon my return from Japan that I will be able to speak basic Japanese. The trip is only a few weeks, but I am confident that it will be enough time for me to experience some of the Japanese culture and traditions as well as share American culture with new friends and family in Japan. When I return from Japan, I will be helping other students who are planning an AFS trip and working with Foreign Students who are hosted in the Cincinnati area.
The cost is a major obstacle in the trip that I am trying to face. The main part are the medical bills; I am hearing impaired in both ears and there are many gaps where the insurance doesn't cover it. But I do have a part-time job and I hope to do some fundraising. I have joined the Sponsor an AFSer Program which is an online fundraising tool provided by AFS-USA to allow potential contributors to make easy, secure, and non tax-deductible contributions to my AFS program fee. Every dollar helps me get closer to my goal of taking this trip.
Thank you for listening and I would greatly appreciate it if you could spread this to people who you think are willing to donate. Thank you again and check in to follow my adventure.
